HOW TO USE THE SERVICE KIOSK
THANK YOU FOR USING AVIS BUDGET FINLAND'S SERVICE KIOSK
Here you will find answers to frequently asked questions about the kiosk and our services.
Using our Service Kiosk? Great! If any questions should occur, let's start here.
First, please note that you can only use the kiosk if you have been appointed to it. If our Service Desk is open, your keys are probably there. Currently, the Kiosk only serves customers outisde office hours.
Checking in at the Kiosk
WHAT DO I NEED WHEN I USE THE KIOSK?
When you use the Service Kiosk to pick up your car keys, please have the following ready at hand:
- Avis Budget reservation number
Our reservation number has 11 digits in total: 8 numbers, 2 letters and 1 more number. Please do not use any 3rd party codes - they don't work with this kiosk.
- Driving license
We need to scan and validate your driving license before we can give you the car.
- Passport or ID
Please prepare to scan your passport or other legal travel ID.
- Credit card
A valide credit card will be needed for the deposit even if you have already paid your rental. The deposit will be released after the car has been returned. Please note that we do not accept debit cards.
How do I pay? What if I have already paid?
Even if you have already paid your rental, we will have to see your credit card. This is for deposit purposes only. Deposit is something that we reserve in your bank account in case the car gets damaged or the tank is not full when you return it. After the car has been returned, we will release the deposit.
For this purpose, a credit card is required. Unfortunately, we do not accept debit cards or Diners card, travel cheques or cash.
If you have not paid your reservation yet, we will charge your credit card both the price of the rental and the deposit.
Do I need to show my driving license?
Yes you do. We need to see your driving license before giving the car to you. Please note that your driving license must have been valid for at least a year.
When driving in Finland, you must always have a valid driving license with you and show it to the police when requested.
If your driving license has been issued outside Europe and/or is written with non-Roman alphabets, like Arabic, Greek, Russian, Hebrew or Japanese, you must provide either an international driving license or an official English translation of it.
The contract
After you have been checked in and signed the contract, it will be sent to your email. Please keep the contract during your rental. It contains useful contact information in case you need help on the road or need to change your rental.
Where to find my car
At Helsinki Airport, your car is located in the parking hall P3B.
Please follow the signs to P3 parking. There should also be paper maps to the parking hall by the kiosk or online at our website.
From the kiosk, turn right and follow the signs to P3 parking. Walk inside the corridor by the hotel and keep on walking forward until you see the second round parking hall in front of you.
Inside parking hall P3B, take stairs or elevator one floor up. Avis Budget cars are available in parking lots marked with our logo.
Inspecting the car
Before you start driving, inspect the car carefully. if you find any scratches or damages that are nor marked in your rental contract, take photos of them and contact us for further advise. Outside office hours, you can send the photos to us by email. Our contact information is available in your rental contract.
We always inspect the car between rentals. However, sometimes we might miss a scratch. It is important that you, too, inspect the condition of the car in the beginning of the rental, so that we can allocate any damage to the right customer.
When you return the car, inspect it again accordingly. If you find any damage or if, for instance, a non-urgent alarm light is on, let us know about it, so that we can fix the car for the next customer. Again, outside office hours you can inform us by email.
Returning the car
When you return the car after your rental, please consider the following steps:
1. Return the car to the very location and latest at the time marked in your contract.
Please note that returning the car late is considered as lengthening your rental, which may cause additional costs.
2. Gather all your belongings.
Make sure that you have all your belongings with you. Check the glove compartment, trunk and any other lockers and pockets.
3. Make sure the tank (or battery) is full
You must fill in the tank to the extent where it has been filled in the beginning of your rental, usually full.
You must charge the battery of an electric vehicle to 70% at least. (If you are driving a hybride, you don't have to charge it, fueling is enought.)
If the tank or battery hasn't been filled in according to our guidelines, an additional fee will be charged.
4. Inspect the car for any damages
Upon returning, inspect the car carefully. If you find any damage or if, for instance, a non-urgent alarm light is on, let us know about it, so that we can fix the car for the next customer. Outside office hours you can inform us by email.
